Shining Moment to compete at local film-fest

Veteran Hong Kong filmmaker Fruit Chan’s children’s dance drama Shining Moment will get its world premiere at the 1st Macau International Film Festival & Awards (IFFAM).

The film joins 11 other international titles in the event’s official competition section, which will be judged by a jury headed by two-time Academy Award-winning director Shekhar Kapur.

Other films competing at the event include Britain’s Trespass Against Us, by Adam Smith and starring Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson; China’s Hide and Seek, by Liu Jie; and Free Fire, by Ben Wheatley, starring Oscar winner Brie Larson; among others.
