With 2024 marking the 25th anniversary of Macau’s return to the motherland, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has launched a desk calendar themed “The days when culture is with us are like the splendid day we first met”, the bureau said in a statement on Wednesday.
The desk calendar features 12 scenes of Macau’s cultural life and was created by local designer Lam Ieong Kun and illustrator Una Tong (唐婉儀), according to the statement. Daily activities at different cultural facilities such as A-Ma Temple and the Former Iec Long Firecracker Factory are depicted. Quotes from seven local writers who have written literary pieces about cultural life are also featured, the statement said.
The statement said that citizens can register for a calendar on their Macao One Account and choose a pick-up location, which cannot be changed once registered, until 11:59 p.m. on January 12. A lucky draw will be held if registrants exceed the limit.
Those who are selected will receive a notification via the Macao One Account on January 15, and they can obtain one desk calendar by presenting the ID they registered with at the selected pick-up location between January 16 and 23.
Moreover, Disability Assessment Registration Card holders and Macau residents aged 65 or above who have not yet collected the calendar can go to designated public libraries with their valid Disability Assessment Registration Card and Macau ID card respectively to obtain a calendar from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Tuesdays to Sundays from January 21. No prior registration is required, though the number of the desk calendars is limited and each can only get one calendar.
