A 32-year-old construction worker at the city’s new prison in the hamlet of Ka Ho in Coloane island was rushed to a local hospital yesterday after being hit by an iron pipe, the Fire Services Bureau (CB) said in a statement.
According to the statement, while working at the site, the iron pipe fell on the local male victim and hit him, causing injuries to his back.
The statement noted that the victim remained conscious while he was being rushed to the hospital.
The Fire Services Bureau has notified the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) about the industrial accident which happened at about 11:30 a.m. yesterday.
