MGM, GEG raise salaries

Integrated resort (IR) operators MGM and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) announced pay raises for eligible staff members in separate statements yesterday.

MGM said in its statement that eligible staff members with a monthly salary of or less than 16,000 patacas will have a standard salary adjustment of 600 patacas, while those earning over 16,000 patacas will get a 2.5 percent increment, representing a 2.5 percent to 6.5 percent increment depending on the base salary. Benefiting 99 percent of staff, the statement said that the salary increment will be in effect starting from March 25.

The statement quoted MGM China Holdings Limited Chairperson and Executive Director Pansy Ho Chiu-king as saying: “MGM truly appreciates our wholehearted team who has been unceasingly upgrading our products and services with innovation, and the Company is more than happy to share the fruition of our joint efforts as well as the economic recovery with our team members”.

Meanwhile, GEG said in their statement that eligible staff at Senior Manager grade and below will receive a salary increase effective from April 1.

Staff who joined the company before January 1, 2024 can receive the following: An increment of 600 patacas will be given to staff members with a monthly base salary and guaranteed tips (if applicable) of 16,000 patacas or below, while for those with a monthly base salary and guaranteed tips (if applicable) of over 16,000 patacas will receive a 2.5 percent salary increase, according to the statement, noting that around 98 percent of staff will benefit from the pay rise.

“GEG would like to thank all its team members for their efforts and contributions in the past year, and looks forward to working together with them to achieve further success”, the company said in the statement.

Meanwhile, integrated resort operators Sands China and Melco Resorts & Entertainment had also recently announced pay rises in separate statements about their respective discretionary bonuses for staff members, which the Post had reported on January 5 and January 8 respectively.
