The 2024 Macau International Parade is calling for proposals by registered local performing associations, schools, institutes and organisations from today to February 4, according to a Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) statement.

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the one-day parade will be held on March 24 in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR), the statement said.

This parade, which had been suspended since 2020, is slated to be held this year with the theme of “Love, Peace and Cultural Integration”, the route of which will start at the Ruins of St. Paul’s and finish at Praça do Lago Sai Van, the statement said.

A series of outreach activities will be held on the days prior to the parade, according to the statement, adding that a range of different prizes will be awarded to performers this year in order to further boost the engagement level of participating groups.

With the aim of expressing local artistes’ creativity and showcasing the unique charm of the city, the parade features distinctive costumes and styles, and performers will lead residents and tourists to sing and dance in the streets to “create a joyful atmosphere”.

The parade, formerly known as “Parade through Macau, Latin City” has been renamed “Macau International Parade” since 2017.

Interested individuals or groups can find more information about the upcoming parade in IC’s official website at www.icm.gov.mo.
