The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) said yesterday it expects the temperature to start dropping from this Sunday, with it dipping further to around just 7°C on Wednesday next week.
The observatory forecast that a strong northeasterly monsoon will gradually move southwards at the end of the week, bringing significantly colder weather to southern China.
According to the observatory, the temperature will further drop on Sunday, with a low of 12°C on Monday, falling further to about 9°C on Tuesday, and dropping to 7°C on Wednesday.
The weather will be cold and generally cloudy, with northerly winds of force 4 to 5 and gusts, the observatory forecast.
