In a statement released yesterday, the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) announced that a new electronic platform designed specifically for civil servants and workers in the public administration sector to manage internal affairs, was officially launched in a web version and as a mobile app on Monday, allowing for the “unification and standardisation” of public services.

According to the statement, the platform, named “Assuntos Governamentais” (“Government Affairs”), allows for full digitalisation of the government’s internal human resource management procedures such as tracking attendance records, making leave requests, submitting medical certificates, registering in training courses, and preparing electronic official documents, among others. It added that retired civil servants and their family members could access services provided by the Social Security Fund (FSS).

The statement said that the platform would reform and optimise public service procedures by facilitating cross-departmental data interconnection and centralisation of employees’ data, therefore improving the government’s administrative efficiency. It added that the bureau would continuously improve the platform’s user experience design and expand its functions, such as creating an online remote workspace for civil servants.

The bureau underlined in the statement that the platform, together with the “Macau One Account” and “Business & Associations” platforms, marks a significant step in Macau’s e-governance development.

However, unlike the other two electronic tools that include an English version, this “Government Affairs” platform is currently only available in Chinese and Portuguese.

The “Business & Association” platform was launched last Tuesday, exclusively for enterprises and associations.
