The Macau Public Security Forces Affairs Bureau (DSFSM) will host a string of activities and events for members of the public this Sunday marking its Commemorative Day, the bureau said in a statement yesterday.

The one-day events will be held outside the bureau’s headquarters, i.e., the S. Francisco Barracks.

The Macau Public Security Forces Affairs Bureau is tasked with providing the various entities of the city’s public security forces with administrative and technical support in a range of different aspects.

The bureau was established on January 28, 1991, when Macau was still under temporary Portuguese administration, because of which this year will mark its 33rd anniversary.

The events on Sunday will be held between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., the statement said.

Because of the events’ organisation, the statement said, vehicles will be barred from entering Calçada dos Quartéis, i.e., the street outside the S. Francisco Barracks, from Rua Nova à Guia between 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the statement, Calçada dos Quartéis will be completely closed to traffic between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The events will include game booths, the display of police and fire services motorcycles, and police dog performances, the statement said.

March 14 is the Commemorative Day of the Public Security Police (PSP) as it was established on March 14, 1691.

August 19 is the Commemorative Day of the Judiciary Police (PJ) as it was established on August 19, 1960.
