Junjie Zhang (aka Zhang Junjie), a postdoctoral fellow at the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), has won a Silver award at the recent 2nd China Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition final in Yantai, Shandong province, the private university said in a statement yesterday.
The final concluded on October 28, the statement noted, adding that the contest is “the largest, highest level, and most extensive postdoctoral competition in China” since the postdoctoral system’s implementation.
Zhang, who is engaged in research on materials science, won a Silver award in the contest’s New Energy and New Materials Group for the proposal “High Quality Regenerated Aluminium Alloy Manufacturing Complete Technology Research and Development”, with the project jointly guided and completed by MUST Associate Prof. André Antunes and University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) Prof. Zhang Shengen, according to the statement.
The postdoctoral fellow conducted research on “the collaborative disposal and resource utilisation of multi-source solid waste” in response to the challenges of waste aluminium, municipal solid waste incineration fly ash, and severe pollution of secondary aluminium ash, the statement noted.
