Melco Resorts & Entertainment said in a statement earlier this week that its Heart of House (employee area) SME Roadshow series for 2023, which concluded last month, helped 270 local SMEs and NGOs generate over 9 million patacas in additional revenue.
The monthly roadshows were launched in 2016, providing rent-free retail spaces to local SMEs and NGOs in staff areas across Altira Macau, City of Dreams (COD), and Studio City.
The statement noted that over 170 roadshow sessions were hosted by the integrated resort operator in 2023, inviting SMEs and NGOs to set up and run rent-free sales booths at the properties, which enabled them to promote and sell directly to the company’s 16,000 staff.
The latest roadshow held between December 11-15 offered products such as clothing and accessories, gifts, and household items, the statement said.
Local business owner and December roadshow participant Lee Kin Man, who heads Riko Zakkaya, was quoted by the statement as saying: “The rent-free opportunity has helped our products reach a larger audience and enabled us to increase our revenue.”
Rositina Company Limited General Manager Zhu Chuting added that the platform “enables SMEs like ourselves to generate better market exposure and promote our products to a new audience while helping us generate added revenue.”
The company also hosted its Studio City Christmas Bazaar last month at its French Garden, supported by the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) and the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the statement said. Over 40 local businesses were provided with rent-free stalls.
