The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announced in a statement yesterday that it will be launching free one-way ferry and direct bus tickets to Macau for foreign visitors arriving in Hong Kong.

The special offer is launched in collaboration with Hong Kong & Macao International Airport Transportation Service Company Limited (Macau HK Airport Direct), Shun Tak-China Travel Ship Management Limited (TurboJET) and Cotai Ferry Company Limited (Cotai Water Jet), according to the statement.

The statement noted that the offer aims to attract more international visitors to Macau to experience “tourism+” and to expand visitor source markets for “more robust tourism and economic development”.

The one-way ferry tickets are available starting tomorrow and will be available through July 31, the statement said. To book tickets in advance, visitors can use their travel documents along with their boarding passes, electronic tickets or transportation receipts indicating their arrival in Hong Kong up to seven days before their intended trip to Macau.

The free one-way bus tickets, meanwhile, are available from tomorrow through August 31, the statement said, for foreign visitors arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Travellers can present their valid travel documents and boarding passes at a specified area to obtain the free bus tickets for the direct shuttle transfer from the HKIA SkyPier Terminal to Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge.
