The government launched a special webpage to integrate information about Macau 2024 Chinese New Year (CNY) celebratory events in different districts organised by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), Sports Bureau (ID), Macau Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and the tourism sector, according to a joint statement yesterday.

Among the raft of CNY celebratory events, the statement highlights the annual Chinese New Year (CNY) parade in the city centre and the northern district on February 12 and February 17 which are the 3rd and 8th days of the Lunar New Year, with 15 “splendid” floats, in conjunction with about 1,000 performers from the mainland, Macau, Hong Kong and overseas, welcoming the Year of the Dragon together with residents and visitors alike.

The CNY celebratory events will also include three pyrotechnic spectacles, slated to be held on the 3rd, 7th and 15th days of the Lunar New Year, i.e., on February 12, 16 and 24, in the coastal waters off Macau Tower. The first and second days of the firework displays will start at 9:45 p.m. while the last show will begin at 9 p.m., according to the statement.

Members of the public can visit https://www.macaotourism.gov.mo/en/article/cny/celebrations-2024 to check out the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration activities in Macau. This page is available in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, and Portuguese.

Members of the public can also view information about New Year activities through the “Experience Macao” mobile app, or the “Enjoy Macao” Macau New Year Activities page at www.enjoyMacao.mo, which also has an “Enjoy Macao” mobile app.

Meanwhile, WeChat users can also search for “Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region” to open the “Enjoy Macao” mini programme inside WeChat.
