Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak said yesterday the government would consider reviewing the regulations on owning firearms for self-defence and requiring all firearm owners to submit their handgun’s ballistic fingerprint record.
Wong made the remarks on the sidelines of the annual ‘Walk for a Million’ charity event.
Commenting on the 58-year-old retired custom officer who committed suicide with a handgun on Friday in Taipa, Wong said he was upset about the officer’s death, adding that the Macau Customs Service would assist the bereaved family in the funeral.
