The Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) has launched a new subsidy programme to encourage the upgrading and transformation of pharmaceutical factories in Macau, assisting enterprises in improving product quality, the bureau said in a statement yesterday.
The statement said that the programme also aims to further support the development of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) manufacturing industry in Macau, and promote the modernisation of Macau’s TCM industry.
According to the statement, individuals or enterprises holding TCM manufacturing or pharmaceutical production licences in Macau can apply for the funding of expert consultation fees, technology development fees and testing fees involving their projects.
The programme will provide grants for to up to six applicants with a maximum total grant of one million patacas per applicant.
TCM manufacturing enterprises in Macau that meet the application requirements may apply for the programme to the bureau’s Industrial and Commercial Development Fund. The application deadline is April 2.
