Sands China executives celebrated Chinese New Year (CNY) with staff members on Monday, with festivities to welcome the Year of the Dragon (Year of the Loong) held at Sands Macao in Nape as well as The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao and The Londoner Macao in Cotai, the integrated resort (IR) operator said in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement noted that at each property, staff members watched performances, played an interactive game with executive management personnel, and took part in cash-prize lucky draws and roast pig cutting. Each property’s executives also distributed CNY snacks to staff, according to the statement.

Sands China Ltd. Executive Vice Chairman Wilfred Wong Ying-wai was quoted by the statement as saying: “Sands China is very excited about the year that just passed and we are looking forward to another great year ahead”.

He added: “Our gratitude goes to our amazing team members for their continued dedication and commitment to the company, which they’ve shown in times of prosperity and in times of difficulty. May the Year of the Dragon bring blessings to all.”

The statement added that with this year marking Sands Macao’s 20th anniversary, the company’s management staff also thanked Sands Macao’s opening team during the CNY celebration at the property.

The company’s CEO and Executive Director Grant Chum Kwan Lock was quoted as saying: “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our colleagues for their dedicated service to our valued guests, enabling them to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the city as they welcome the Chinese New Year. As we joyously celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sands Macao’s grand opening this year, I sincerely thank all our long-serving colleagues for their unwavering commitment and eagerly anticipate scaling new heights together.”
