Lisboeta Macau said in a statement earlier this week that their “Volunteer Team”, in conjunction with L’Arc Macau, visited Asilo de Felicidade (“Shelter of Bliss”), a home for the elderly, in the Inner Harbour area on Tuesday.

The statement noted that the visit followed up on the success of last month’s blood donation event, adding that the visit aimed to “promote the spirit of helping others and uphold the traditional values of respecting and cherishing the elderly”.

Interactive games were set up by the volunteers, who also led seniors in singing classic songs, the statement said. Management group representatives from both properties commended the volunteers for their selfless dedication.

The representatives also encouraged staff to take “take practical actions to promote interaction among people of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds”, enhancing civil society’s attention to seniors’ lives and mental health.

The statement said that the endeavour aimed to strengthen “the construction of an inclusive and harmonious society for all ages”.
