Two Mongolian women were caught on Monday for stealing a cardigan worth 599 patacas from a shop in a Cotai casino resort hotel and a mobile phone worth about 9,000 patacas in Avenida de D. João IV, a Public Security Police (PSP) spokesperson said yesterday during a regular press conference.

According to the spokesperson, one of the suspects, surnamed Khalzan, is in her thirties while the other suspect, surnamed Sarantsetseg, is in her twenties. They told the police that they are friends.

The spokesperson said when police officers were patrolling near Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, they noticed the two suspects, as one of them looked like a suspect in a mobile phone theft from a shop in Avenida de D. João IV.

This handout photo provided by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday shows the stolen cardigan and three mobile phones seized from the suspects.
