Amagao Gallery marks biennial with ‘Year 2 Exhibition’

Amagao Gallery at Artyzen Grand Lapa in Nape recently celebrated its second anniversary with the launch of the “Year 2 Exhibition”, showcasing the works of 34 artists until May 5.

The gallery is managed by Galeria 57 (Macau) in partnership with the hotel operator.

The artists showcasing their works are from Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), and among them are Alexandre Marreiros, Alice Ieong, Catarina Cottinelli da Costa, Denis Murrell, Gonçalo Lobo Pinheiro and Lai Sio Kit. The works include paintings, photography, and mixed media.

According to a recent statement provided by the gallery, the exhibition underlines Amagao Gallery’s ties to the local arts community and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), which have always been part of its core objectives.

Moreover, in a separate statement released during the exhibition’s recent opening ceremony, the gallery’s Managing Partner José I. Duarte was quoted as saying: “The partners reaffirm their commitment to making this gallery a point of reference in the local art market and promoting both local artists and the arts from the Portuguese-speaking world”.

Area Vice President, Macau Operations for Artyzen Hospitality Group and General Manager of Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau Rutger Verschuren was also quoted as saying: “After two years, including navigating through the challenges posed by the pandemic, we have witnessed a growing interest in local and regional art. We will continue our collaboration with Amagao Gallery to present captivating art pieces”.

The gallery is located just off the hotel lobby and is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, operating from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is closed on Mondays. For more information, visit https://artyzen.grandlapa.com/
