Local LGBT rights activist Jason Chao Teng Hei said yesterday the ultimate goal for the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community was to enjoy equality and acceptance in a diverse society.
Chao made the remarks during an interview with The Macau Post Daily about LGBT rights in the context of Taiwan’s possible legalisation of same-sex marriage.
Several amendment bills concerning same-sex marriage were passed by Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan in their first reading on Monday.
