Capella at Galaxy Macau is set to open in mid-2025, with the upcoming hotel being the latest edition to the sprawling integrated resort and the first of the Capella brand in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), the integrated resort (IR) operator announced in a statement yesterday.
Galaxy Macau boasts nine hotels under one roof, the statement noted.
GEG Vice Chairman Francis Lui Yiu Tung was quoted as saying: “We are honoured that the globally acclaimed Capella Hotels and Resorts has chosen to partner with us, enabling the world’s most discerning guests to forge new and authentic connections with Macau – a global arts and entertainment hub with a rich cultural history and gateway to the Greater Bay Area”.
Capella Hotels and Resorts was named Best Hotel Brand in the world by Travel + Leisure Magazine in 2023.
The 17-storey hotel will have 36 Sky Villas and 57 Suites, with jungle-inspired interiors that also take inspiration from “Macau’s lush green hills”, and is designed by renowned Paris-based firm Moinard Bētaille.
Each Sky Villa features a light-filled balcony with a transparent infinity-edge pool, outdoor lounge, sunroom, and hidden winter garden, the statement said. Amenities, meanwhile, include a butler pantry, a karaoke room with a cigar butler and premium collection, a private cocktail bar, and a games lounge.
The suites, the statement said, feature private plunge pools and balconies with panoramic views of Macau’s architecture.
Meanwhile, “Pony & Plume” will house a members-only lounge designed by Hong Kong interior design legend Albert Kwan.
A curated collection of art will also be featured at the hotel. Asia’s 50 Best and Michelin-starred Chef and Krug Ambassade Vicky Cheng (鄭永麒) from Hong Kong is also set to open his fine-dining restaurant at the hotel.
