The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement yesterday that 60 temporary collection points for large items of unwanted furniture will be set up from today through May 7.
The statement noted that members of the public can dispose of their furniture from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the designated locations, 50 of which are in the peninsula, six in Taipa and four in Coloane. For the detailed locations, visit www.iam.gov.mo/macaohygiene or scan the poster’s QR codes. Staff and vehicles, the statement said, will also be increased to remove the items at the locations daily.
The bureau urged members of the public to dispose of unwanted furniture items properly at the specified times and locations to avoid affecting environmental hygiene, as well as pedestrian and traffic safety, the statement pointed out, while they must also be properly secured to avoid accidents. Those not properly disposing their household items face a fine.
