A local unmarried ex-couple got into a noisy argument and physical clash over emotional issues at the female’s flat in Taipa on May Day, and police who were called to the scene found 15.61 grams of cannabis and suspected drug paraphernalia there, including a digital scale, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chan Wun Man said at a regular press conference on Friday.

According to Chan, the Judiciary Police were notified by the Public Security Police (PSP) of a relationship and drug row at a flat in Taipa on Wednesday. PJ officers rushed to the scene where they found 15.61 grams of cannabis and an electronic weighing scale, and a further 1.31 grams of cannabis at the male’s flat in Taipa, totalling 16.92 grams with an estimated street value of about 17,000 patacas.

Under questioning, both admitted that they have a habit of taking drugs, but denied drug trafficking.

Chan noted that the female suspect, surnamed Mok, is aged 38, while the male suspect, surnamed Sun, is aged 25. The former told the police that she is a businesswoman, while the latter said that he works as a chauffeur. Both tested positive for drugs.

Mok and Sun have been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), both facing charges of drug trafficking, drug taking and possession of drug paraphernalia, Chan said.
