A local man has been arrested for kicking the protective partition divider beside the bus driver and disturbing the driver when driving, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Chi Weng said in a regular press conference yesterday.
The suspect in his sixties surnamed Si told the police that he’s jobless.
According to the bus driver’s report, no one alighted when the bus was travelling along Avenida da Amizade, so he continued to the Friendship Bridge, during which Si approached the driver and accused him of skipping a stop so that he could not get off. A heated argument ensued, during which Si repeatedly kicked the plastic partition divider next to the driver’s seat. After the bus arrived in Taipa, the driver reported the case to the police.
Si was taken to a police station for questioning. He admitted to kicking the divider once.
Si has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) and faces a charge of causing property damage and endangering passengers.
