The legislature yesterday passed the outline of an amendment bill to abolish the Security Forces Co-ordination Office, with the original functions conducted by the office to be passed to the Unitary Police Service (SPU), with the aim of streamlining organisational structures and enhancing administrative efficiency.

A total of 30 lawmakers cast their votes, all of which were in favour of the bill.

The bill proposes amendments to the security framework law and the law regulating the SPU operations.
