Integrated resort (IR) operator Sands China said in a statement on Wednesday that its annual signature event and Macau’s largest sale event, the “Sands Shopping Carnival”, will take place at The Venetian Macau’s Cotai Expo from July 18 to 21, with interested exhibitors able to register for a free booth from today until May 26.

Marking its fifth edition, the four-day 2024 Sands Shopping Carnival will feature over 580 booths across nine exhibition zones, providing business opportunities and free business platforms for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Sands retailers, according to the statement.

The statement added that discounts of up to 90 percent on a variety of products will be offered. It also features an international-cuisine food court area, activities and games, among others. More information and sneak peaks of activities such as the Little Master Chef Workshop and a new kids talent showdown will be announced in due course.

The free-entry event will run from noon to 10 p.m. daily, according to the statement, adding that the “fun weekend destination is a summer hotspot for residents and tourists, in line with the Macau government’s ’tourism+’ initiative”. The first day will feature a special invitation-only preview session.

The carnival has logged over 420,000 visits since debuting in 2020. The statement said that one of the carnival’s major aims is to “boost Macau’s diversified economic development by creating synergy between local SMEs and international retail brands.”

Sands China Executive Vice Chairman Wilfred Wong Ying-wai was quoted by the statement as saying: “With each passing year, the Sands Shopping Carnival has evolved into an unparalleled spectacle, leveraging international retail brands to showcase the vibrant tapestry of local SMEs”.

“As we embark on this extraordinary journey once more, we strive to introduce new elements that will elevate the shopping experience for local residents and visitors to new heights”, Wong added.

The statement said that exhibitors can register for a free booth by visiting https://www.venetianmacao.com/ or the Sands Cares Facebook page from until May 26 at 6 p.m. For enquiries, call 2855 5000 or email info@macexpo.com.mo
