SJM Resorts held an award ceremony at the Jai Alai Buffet last Wednesday for last month’s “SJM Basketball and Football Friendly Invitational Matches”, which was attended by over 200 athletes and guests, the integrated resort operator (IR) said in a statement last Thursday.
The statement said that the recently held matches hoped to promote basketball and football, among other sporting events, in Macau, improve employee wellness, and “facilitated communication and friendships within the industry”. The event also aimed to foster teamwork among staff and contribute to the development of a harmonious society.
The statement said that SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee Director and Chairman Angela Leong On Kei and SJM Table and Slot Operations Senior Vice President Marco Ieong Sio Ian presented certificates to participating football and basketball teams, along with trophies and medals to winners.
Other guests attending the event were Macau Federation of Trade Unions (commonly known as Gung Luen in Cantonese) Sports Committee Director Lam Kam Hung and Macau-China Basketball Association Executive Vice President Michael Cheong (張劍初).
