Xia focuses on youth affairs, youth entrepreneurship on penultimate day of 7-day fact-finding tour

     Xia Baolong, who heads both the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council’s Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Xia Baolong, continued his fact-finding tour of Macau yesterday, and the penultimate day of his seven-day visit was centrered on youth affairs and youth entrepreneurship, according to a statement by the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS). 


In the morning, Xia, accompanied by Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng and Secretary for Administration and Justice Andre Cheong Weng Chon, had a breakfast meeting with several of Macau's delegates to the National People's Congress (NPC), some members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and representatives of an association consisting of Macau's provincial-level CPPCC members. They discussed matter concerning social affairs in the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR).


Subsequently, Xia visited the Macau Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre, accompanied by Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong. Xia sought to gain fresh insights into the services provided by the centre to support youth entrepreneurship, and the current situation and opportunities for youth entrepreneurship in the MSAR.

Moreover, Xia visited a youth-geared network technology company, where he was briefed about the firm's development from start-up, to development, then growth, and its current expansion into international markets, based on the local government's support. 

In the afternoon, Xia, accompanied by Cheong, visited the archives of the Macao Daily News company, to review records of Macau’s process of development over the past decades. Afterwards, Xia visited the Macau Youth Development Services Centre, for a briefing on youth affairs matters.

Xia's fact-finding visit ends today.

This morning, Ho will give a press conference about Xia's visit, GCS announced last night.
