The Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN) is slated to host its “Children’s Funday” on June 1 at the residential community in Hengqin, with the event set to feature activities in celebration of International Children’s Day.
According to a statement from the Macau government-owned company Macau Urban Renewal Limited, the “circus-themed” event will feature market stalls, nightlight painting workshops and live performances, among other activities, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Interactive games for all ages will also be available at the event, the statement noted, and playing them will enable participants to collect stamps to use in a four-metre-tall gashapon machine to win prizes such as an instant camera or a smartwatch for kids, the statement said.
A gashapon is a small toy sold in a plastic capsule.
Meanwhile, the free nightlight painting workshop will have three sessions: 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., with each session limited to 15 parent-child pairs, the statement added. One can sign up on https://ssur.cc/WYsjvgW until 5 p.m. next Monday, with a lucky draw to be held if the number of registrants exceed the limit. Those successful will be notified via SMS next Wednesday.
A live science show featuring interactive experiments using examples from daily life will also be held in the morning and afternoon of the event day, according to the statement.
Moreover, the statement noted that one can also receive a free instant print photo strip with three pictures, adding that in order to get the gift one only needs to take a photo, share it on any social media platform with the hashtag #MacauNewNeighbourhood and collect eight likes.
