Macau’s visitor arrivals in the first four months of the year rose by 58.9 percent year on year to 11.47 million, recovering to 83.2 percent of the level in the same period of pre-pandemic 2019, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.
Same-day visitors (6.14 million) and overnight visitors (5.33 million) increased by 80.3 percent and 39.8 percent year on year respectively.
Visitors’ average length of stay fell by 0.1 day to 1.2 days, with that of overnight visitors (2.2 days and same-day visitors (0.2 day) decreasing by 0.1 day.
Last month, the number of visitor arrivals grew by 14.4 percent year on year to 2.60 million, recovering to 75.8 percent of the figure in the same month of 2019. Month on month, visitor arrivals were down by 4.4 percent.
Mainlanders and Hongkongers accounted for 66.8 percent and 22.3 percent of all visitor arrivals respectively.
