The “Macau Patterns” exhibition is still on at Rui Cunha Foundation (FRC) until Saturday, with the photographs captured by Portuguese graphic designer Eva Bucho showcasing the various patterns and details found in the five parishes in Macau.
The exhibition features patterns found on buildings, architecture, tiles, ornaments and pavements in the parishes of Sé, São Lourenço, São Lázaro, Santo António and Nossa Senhora de Fátima, according to a recent statement by the gallery.
The free-admission exhibition opened last week, accompanied by the launch of a trilingual photo album of the same name that also features vectorial drawings in addition to the photographs, the statement said, adding that the pictures were compiled over the course of two years. Both the book and exhibition are part of the “Programme Celebrations of June 10th and the Month of Portugal Macau”, the statement said.
Bucho, who is from Madeira, was quoted by the statement as saying that the book is her photographic memoir, noting: “I only arrived in Macau in 2016, but over the years, I have been amazed by the cultural pattern of Macau and its small little details as it remains a permanent presence in Macau”
One can visit the exhibition from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. between today and tomorrow. Meanwhile, on Saturday, the gallery will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, visit https://ruicunha.org/frc/
