The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) is calling for the submission of photos by Macau residents for the “Greater Bay Area Cultural Heritage Forum – Exhibition of Selected Works from the Call for Submission of Photographs of Revitalised Historic Buildings”, with entries accepted until August 18, the bureau said in a statement yesterday.
The initiative is part of a series of outreach activities in its “Greater Bay Area Cultural Heritage Forum” in late October.
Divided into “student” and “open” categories, those interested can submit their unpublished black-and-white or colour photographs (aerial and/or panoramic) related to the theme “revitalised historic buildings in Macau”, according to the statement.
The initiative, the statement notes, aims to present “the spatial beauty of revitalised local historic buildings, while also reflecting the vitality and bustling life of residents through the public’s own perspective, thus highlighting the value and significance of the joint protection and appreciation of historical buildings”.
Prizes for each category comprises gold, silver and bronze awards, as well as merit awards, totaling 29 prizes. Winners of the “student” and “open” categories will receive 5,000 patacas and 10,000 patacas respectively. Awardees will be announced in September, according to the statement.
The winning works will be exhibited at the main venue of the Greater Bay Area Cultural Heritage Forum in Barra, as well as on the forum’s website in late October, the statement said.
The activity is organised by the bureau in conjunction with integrated resort operator MGM. Registration methods and details can be found on www.icm.gov.mo or www.mgm.mo. One can also get a hardcopy for registration from IC’s Department of Cultural Heritage’s reception.
Enquiries can be made by emailing GBA-CH@icm.gov.mo or contacting 8590 4316.
