If you are looking for a new place where you can enjoy food with your furbaby, you should pay a visit to Laika Land, which is a pet supply shop, pet grooming place, pet boarding house, coffee shop, and pet restaurant all in one.
Located at New China Plaza on Rua de Francisco Xavier Pereira, Laika Land opened on August 13 last year, with an area of 650 square metres.
Walking into Laika Land, you’ll see lovely cats and dogs awaiting you, they are 二爺, a Meteorite Border Collie, 三少, a silver tiger Maine Coon, 閃電 and 雷霆, two Ragdolls – who are brothers, as well as 喵姐, a Pennsylvania Maine Coon. They are the friendly “shop managers”.
You can take your fur baby there to make new friends, if they would like to, or to enjoy food exclusively for pets, such as pet burgers, pet yoghurt cups, pet cakes, among others, that Laika Land provides.
Laika Land staff told the Post last week they noticed that Macau is starting to become more pet-friendly in terms of urban space, but, they acknowledged, this new attitude towards pets is still in its infancy. Compared to other Asian cities, there is still a lot of room for improvement.
“Although most of the other pet-friendly spaces allow pets to enter, further support facilities and services are not available,” the staff said.
Laika Land staff said they aim to set a new pet-friendly lifestyle standard for the Asian market, by providing diversified and high-quality pet-related services and experiences for pet lovers.
“One thing that is important is that our shop is more than just a pet-friendly restaurant”, the staff explained, adding that it provides meals for pets, free diapers, fixed cup holders, pet water dispensers, pet friendly cleaners, decorated in a visible colour tone for dogs and cats, as well as pet pick-up services, a one-stop pet services provider.
Laika Land opens from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Friday to Sunday. Members of the public who are interested can call Laika Land on 6885 6560 during its operating hours, or search for “Laika Land ‘’ on various social media platforms.
