The Transport Bureau (DSAT) will merge two of its current mobile apps - “Macau Smart Go” and “Traffic Information Centre” - into one, starting from the midnight tomorrow, with all the functions of “Traffic Information Centre” being merged with the “Macau Smart Go”, making the latter a 2.0 beta version, according to the bureau’s statement yesterday.

The statement said that the “Traffic Information Centre” will be removed from app stores after August 16.

The bureau launched a formal version of the “Macau Smart Go” in 2022, which incorporates functions such as route maps for buses, taxis, and walking, optimisation of driving, the dissemination of information in real-time on traffic conditions and public car parks, enabling users to obtain details of different kinds of travel and transport information in advance, so that they can better plan their trips.

According to the statement, the new version of the “Macau Smart Go” will provide more comprehensive information and services on transport and travel, as well as ticket purchasing, cross-boundary transport services and travel and entertainment information, with some of the existing functions having also been optimised to further enhance the user experience.

Therefore, the bureau reminds residents and tourists to download the “Macau Smart Go” app in advance, so that they can get familiar with its functions and operations and plan their journeys conveniently, the statement said.

The statement said the bureau will closely monitor the operation of the app after its integration, and will optimise the various travel apps in a timely manner to facilitate travel for residents and tourists.
