The Association for the Joint Effort of Building a Good Home (ACCBL) – a subgroup of the Women’s General Association of Macau (commonly known as Fu Luen in Cantonese) – launched yesterday an online quiz game to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the 25th anniversary of Macau’s return to the motherland, according to a press conference yesterday.

National Day falls on October 1, while the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) was established on December 20, 1999, after several centuries of temporary Portuguese rule.

The online quiz game will last until the end of this month, aiming for residents to take the initiative to learn more about the history of the nation and the MSAR so that the core values of patriotism and loving Macau can be passed on to the next generation.

Lawmaker Wong Kit Cheng, who heads ACCBL, said during the press conference that the central authorities have formally implemented the “Patriotic Education Law of the People’s Republic of China” this year, showing that patriotic education has been elevated to a new height and level.

According to the press conference, which was held at Fu Luen’s headquarters on Rua do Campo, the content of the quiz is based on the history of the nation’s development, the Macau Basic Law, and the history of the MSAR.
