Orbis Macau said in a statement yesterday that its Orbis Raffle Charity Sale 2024 has raised over 848,000 patacas throughout its two-month run.

This year’s charity sale, which aimed to raise vital funds to fuel the non-profit’s paediatric sight-saving initiatives, came to an end on June 30, according to the statement. Each raffle ticket was priced at 10 patacas, with the NGO thanking the public for their support.

Meanwhile, the statement noted that this year’s “impressive list of attractive prizes” was valued at over 408,000 patacas, with the non-profit expressing gratitude to the gift sponsors while noting that the collective support has contributed to promoting the charity sale and “attracting a greater level of participation from the people of Macau”.

A lucky draw was held on Thursday at the Orbis Macau Office, with the event witnessed by a Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) representative and Sevina Leung, a volunteer accountant, the statement said. Orbis Macau Director of Development Isabel da Silva drew a total of 96 winning tickets and 24 back-up winners, with the results slated to be released today which can be found on the charity’s website on www.orbis.org/moraffle and social media channels.

“Orbis reiterates their gratitude to the benevolent donors, generous sponsors, supporting organisations, collaborative partners, and volunteers. Their strong support plays a pivotal role in this life transforming sight-saving journey”, the eye care charity said in the statement.

The statement added that Orbis invites members of the public to continue supporting its sight-saving work so that more children and adolescents with visual impairments will be able to receive the care they need and deserve.
