Broadway classic “Annie the Musical” is set to take to the Macau Cultural Centre’s (CCM) stage from August 2 to 14, with the “must-see summer show for all ages” being part of the 1st Macao International Children’s Arts Festival, according to a Friday statement from the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).
The statement noted that the musical is one of the “world’s best-loved shows” and features popular music numbers such as “Tomorrow” and “It’s the Hard Knocked Life”. The original Broadway show, which Wikipedia notes opened in 1977 and ran for nearly six years, won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the statement said.
It became one of the world’s longest running musicals in the 1970s and was made into an Oscar-nominated movie in the 1980s, according to the statement.
The show coming to Macau is produced by Crossroads Live North America and Broadway Asia. Ticketing is available on the Macao Ticketing Network, while more information on discount offers can be found on www.icm.gov.mo and www.ccm.gov.mo.
