The Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macau (ARTM) is slated to host the two-day “Treatment for Substance Use Disorders Conference” next week, with the event gathering experts to discuss and shape best practices.
Set to take place next Thursday and Friday at the University of Macau (UM), the event, according to its programme, will feature plenary sessions featuring speakers from different places, tackling themes such as diversity of treatment practices and social reintegration programmes, while roundtable discussions will also be held. The event poster adds that the upcoming event aims to bring together key experts in the related fields.
Among the speakers set to attend the conference are National Narcotics Control Commission of the Ministry of Public Security of China Deputy Director Andy Tsang Wai-Hung, World Federation of Therapeutic Communities (WFTC) President Sushma Taylor, and Matej Kosir, the chair of the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs.
The upcoming event is organised by the association in conjunction with the UM’s Faculty of Social Sciences and sponsored by the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS).
