The Chief Executive Electoral Affairs Commission (CAECE) announced yesterday that three polling stations will be used in next month’s election of the Chief Executive Election Committee members, namely the Macao Polytechnic University’s (MPU) Multi-Sport Pavilion in Zape, the nearby Macau Forum complex, and the Luso-Chinese Vocational and Technical School in Areia Preta district.
The commission made the announcement on the chief executive election’s website (https://www.ece.gov.mo) yesterday, when the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) also issued a statement on the matter.
The three venues to be used in this time’s election are the same ones used in the 2019 election of the Chief Executive Election Committee.
This year’s election of the Chief Executive Election Committee members will be held on August 11.
The commission said yesterday that the three polling stations will open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the August 11 polling day.
The three polling stations’ opening hours this time will be the same as the ones in the 2019 election.
Yesterday’s GCS statement also noted that the commission has designated Macau Baptist College in Areia Preta district as the venue to be used for a backup polling station for the election on August 11.
The commission said earlier this year that the operation of the backup polling station will be activated in case one or more of the election’s three polling stations suddenly cannot operate because of any unforeseeable incident, with the aim of ensuring that the election can take place smoothly.
