A local man damaged the electronic advertising screen of a bus stop on Avenida do Almirante Lacerda late last month after drinking, a Public Security Police (PSP) spokesperson announced during a regular press conference on Friday.
The man in his twenties surnamed Lok told the police that he works as a security guard.
According to the spokesperson, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) reported to the police on July 7 is discovered that someone had damaged the screen.
After scrutinising the police forces’ citywide CCTV camera system, the spokesperson said, PSP officers confirmed that the screen was damaged by Lok on June 28.
According to the spokesperson, the police told Lok on Monday last week to report to a police station for questioning, where he admitted that he punched and kicked the screen on the night of June 28 when walking past the bus stop, after drinking during dinner.
Lok has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) where faces an aggravated property damage charge.
DSAT officials were yet to estimate the exact financial loss caused by the damage.
