An exhibition titled “How Words Fly - Exhibition of Donations from Local Writers” is taking place at the House of Macao Literature on Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, enabling visitors to learn more about Macau’s writers.

Located on the first floor, the ongoing exhibition, according to a recent statement from the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), kicked off last month and comprises over 90 pieces or sets of selected works donated by local writers and literary publishers.

The items on display comprise manuscripts, newspaper clippings, books and calligraphy, the statement noted.

The statement said visitors to the exhibition, which is labelled a “Special Exhibit” in the house’s website, will also get a chance to learn about Macau writers born between 1922 and 1939 such as Hu Xiao Feng, Lao Wa, Iau Chi Vai, Ngai Yick Kin (Tao Li), Lei Kun Teng, and Ling Ling, all of whom are “pioneers in local literature”.

“Through this exhibition, the House of Macao Literature aims to deepen the public’s understanding of Macau writers and their rich variety of works while also extending appreciation to all sectors of society for their support and assistance”, the statement noted.

Those interested in visiting the exhibition can do so between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Tuesdays to Sundays, with final admission at 5:30 p.m. It is also open on public holidays.
