A statement released by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday pointed out that Macau logged 717,457 arrivals and exits on Saturday, a single-day record, again setting a new one-day record and representing an increase of 0.04 percent from last Saturday.

Among the 717,000 arrivals and exits on Saturday, 380,798 were made via the Barrier Gate checkpoint, accounting for 53.08 percent of the total, the statement said.

Meanwhile, 105,879 arrivals and departures were made via Qingmao checkpoint in Ilha Verde, accounting for 14.76 percent, 92,456 were made via the local checkpoint of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB), accounting for 12.89 percent, and 78,867 were made via the Macau-Hengqin joint checkpoint, accounting for 10.99 percent.

The arrival-cum-departure figures comprise visitors, residents, non-local students studying in Macau and non-resident workers (popularly known as blue-card holders).

The statement said that additional lanes were opened to ease the passenger and vehicular cross-border traffic, and everything ran smoothly at all checkpoints.
