The Health Bureau (SSM) has announced that a critical COVID-19 case was recorded in Macau on Friday, an 85-year-old local senior citizen suffering chronic diseases.
According to the SSM statement, the female senior citizen came down with a fever and cough on Thursday, after which she sought treatment at the private Kiang Wu Hospital, where she tested positive for COVID-19 and pneumonia in both lungs.
The statement said that her condition became critical on Friday, adding that she was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) for treatment where she was put on a ventilator. No update on her condition was provided over the weekend.
The statement said that as of Friday the woman had received 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, two of her family members living with her, who had received four doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, came down with mild respiratory symptoms and self-tested positive for COVID-19 in a rapid antigen test (RAT).
