“Comics 2024 + ArmourMan 2024” GBA Manga Artist’ Exhibition is taking place at the Rui Cunha Foundation (FRC) gallery, showcasing the works of comic artists from the Greater Bay Area (GBA), while also promoting cultural artistic exchanges.

Co-organised by the Association of Promoting Macao Comics and Animation Cultural Exchange (APMCACE) and curated by its President Howard Chan (陳兆銘), the exhibition is split into two parts. The first part of the exhibition, the collective “Comics 2024”, kicked off on Tuesday and is on until Saturday.

The current exhibition features around 30 works on display that were created by local artists Vincent Ho (湖水藍), Jet Wu (胡智杰), Yeung Siu (蓮生), the duo Moto&TakTak; Hong Kong’s Wai On (偉安), Linus Liu (廖光祖), Wah Kei (張漢華); Chen Wei (陳惟) and Lin Min (林敏), from the mainland, according to the statement.

The exhibition will then be followed by an exhibition opening next Tuesday that will showcase 30 of the latest works by Hong Kong manhua artist and writer James Khoo Fuk-lung at the gallery, which also celebrates the first anniversary of the publication of his popular comic.

The statement said that ArmourMan became “a great blockbuster of weekly comics” as soon as it was launched in Hong Kong, while it also achieved record sales in Macau, being sold out at most local newsstands within two days. His other works includes “Iron Marshal”, “Eastern Invincible” and “DragonMan”, which have also proved popular “box office hits”, the statement said.

The gallery is open from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission is free. Comics by the artists are also being sold at the gallery during the period.
