Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes told reporters yesterday that as of Sunday, Macau had recorded a daily average of over 100,000 visitor arrivals during this year’s summer holiday (July and August), higher than her office initial expectation.

The tourism chief also said that she was confident that Macau’s number of visitor arrivals could reach 33 million this year, or nearly 84 percent of the 39.4 million recorded in pre-pandemic 2019, meeting MGTO’s target announced early this year.

Senna Fernandes made the remarks on the sidelines of yesterday’s press conference about the government’s Experience Macao Limited Edition International Promotional Campaign.
