This year’s competition comprised 21 lion dance troupes from 13 countries and regions, with MGM’s Brand Marketing Senior Vice President Catarina Lio (廖頴琦) telling the Post after the event that there were many more competitors this year than previously. Moreover, this edition also saw more female teams and teenagers taking part in the event, according to Lio.
Lio added that last year’s competition at A-Ma Temple had also generated awareness of the competition area among teams from different parts of the world, noting that they found it to be “amazing”.
