A Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson said yesterday a local man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly abusing and raping his wife on multiple occasions for about two and a half years, adding that the suspect had also choked his son with a belt and clothes hanger at least twice.

According to the spokesperson, the suspect, surnamed Wu, is a 44-year-old casino security guard while his 40-year-old wife is unemployed. The couple have been married for 19 years with two sons aged 18 and 7.

The spokesperson said the victim was granted residence in Macau in 2012. The suspect and the couple’s sons moved to the city in 2015.
