Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) Faculty of Languages and Translation (FLT) Associate Professor Mark Teng Feng was again listed in the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” annual impact rankings, marking his fourth consecutive year on the list for his field, according to a statement yesterday from the public university.

The list, the rankings website noted, is compiled by Standford University and Elsevier, showing which scientists have had the “biggest impacts on their field”, while adding their works are “really important and helpful to other scientists”

The MPU statement added that the rankings use six composite indicators such as total paper citations and individual h-index* and covers 22 fields and 174 subfields.

Teng ranks fourth among 35 scholars from Chinese higher education institutions including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan in the “Language and Linguistics Field”, according to the statement. Being the only scholar from Macau to be listed in this field, the statement said that Teng sits at 79th among 21,383 scholars worldwide, the statement said.

*The h-index is calculated by counting the number of publications for which an author has been cited by other authors at least that same number of times. – Source: libanswers
