PATA Macau Chapter Student Club visits MGTO

A total of 55 students from the Student Club of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Macau Chapter paid their first courtesy visit to the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) on Friday, which featured a full-day programme prepared for them.

According to the statement, PATA is a “non-profit membership association dedicated to building responsible development of the Asia-Pacific travel and tourism industry”.

The statement noted that the students are studying in tourism-related programmes at the Macao University of Tourism (UTM), Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), City University of Macau, and University of Macau (UM).

The statement said that an overview of MGTO’s activities was presented by its director, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, while presentations delivered by different departments on topics like innovative tourism ensued, along with best practices experience. A guided tour of the Macau Grand Prix Museum in Zape was also held.

Meanwhile, at the closing session, the students also discussed how other students can establish relations with the stakeholders in the local tourism sector and those sectors related to it, with the aim of exploring opportunities to join industry activities in the future, according to the statement.
