A total of 284 hillside slopes were classified as posing safety risks to the public as of the end of last month, five more than at the end of last year, the Public Works Bureau (DSOP) said in a statement on Wednesday.
However, according to the statement, no slope was classified as posing a high safety risk at the end of last month, while there was one at the end of last year.
The government divides the city’s slopes into three categories in terms of their safety risk, namely low, medium and high risk.
At the end of last month, according to Wednesday’s statement, 204 slopes were classified as posing a low safety risk, while 80 were classified as posing a medium risk. No slope was classified as posing a high risk.
