A 46-year-old Hong Kong woman was arrested on Tuesday for entering a casino in Cotai using another person’s ID card, and staying in the hotel guestroom that that she had obtained using her gaming points, and also earned money by renting the redeemed rooms to others, a Public Security Police (PSP) spokesperson said in regular press conference yesterday.
According to the spokesperson, the Hong Kong woman surnamed Un told the police that she is jobless. The police also confirmed that she had been barred from casino gambling.
According to the spokesperson, Un borrowed the ID card from a mainland female friend surnamed Yang in April, and used her friend’s card to apply for a casino bonus point card that she used to obtain hotel rooms, after which rented them out for profit.
In a routine check, PSP officers discovered that a woman surnamed Yang had no valid stay permit in Macau but still appeared to be staying in hotel rooms in Cotai. In the course of the investigation, they also discovered that Un had used Yang’s identification documents and counterfeit stay permits at least six times.
PSP officers arrested Un in a hotel guestroom in Cotai on Tuesday. According to the spokesperson, she confessed that she bought fake stay permits so that she could remain in Macau and enter casinos by using Yang’s identification document. Un told police that each forged document cost 400 yuan.
Un has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges of document forgery and use of other people’s identity documents, the spokesperson said.
